The School of Animal Sciences offers exceptional educational experiences both at the undergraduate (Bachelor of Science) and graduate levels (Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy). Graduate programs offer training in Breeding and Genetics, Growth and Metabolic Physiology, Meat Science and Technology, Ruminant and Nonruminant Nutrition, Poultry Physiology and Nutrition, and Reproductive Physiology and Biotechnology. Research is conducted with beef cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, poultry, and various laboratory species. Interactions of Animal Science faculty with scientists within the School of Veterinary Medicine, Pennington Biomedical Research Institute, and Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Stations across the state provide a vast array of research opportunities for Animal Sciences undergraduate and graduate students.
