Research Associate
WORK LOCATION: Department of Entomology, LSU AgCenter, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: A Research Associate Specialist position for field and laboratory classical biological control and ecological research on red imported fire ant and invasive aquatic ferns. Responsibilities will include supervising student workers and conducting release and establishment research with imported natural enemies of these pests. Also, conduct community ecology studies to assess the impact of imported natural enemy establishment on targeted community. Assist in data collection and analyst and also, preparation of manuscripts and presentations.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree required in Entomology (Master’s preferred) or related discipline with knowledge of Entomology, Biological Control and Ecology. A working knowledge of Experimental Statistics with the ability to set up field experiments, collect and statistically analyze data is desirable.
