And we’re also here to provide information and assistance on economic development in your community, on helping kids and teens become better adults, on fitness and nutrition for your family, on controlling termites or fire ants, on backyard gardening, on saving energy and much more.

Through our network of faculty members across the state, our unique partnerships with other government agencies and private industries, and our quest to employ the latest technology, the LSU AgCenter is improving the lives of Louisiana citizens through research, outreach and educational programs that make a difference for you every day.

In fact, that’s our mission -- to innovate, educate and improve lives. Although our name might imply we’re just about agriculture and our beginning saw us focused primarily on that, today’s LSU AgCenter is about much more. We are the state’s only educational institution dedicated solely to research and outreach on practical, day-to-day matters that affect your living standards and your wallet.

Sure, we still provide the latest information on raising crops and livestock, but agriculture also extends well beyond those to include other natural resources and issues related to the environment. Even more, we know our mission doesn’t stop there. So today we’re also involved with helping in such areas as lawns and gardens, family and home, money and business, community affairs, food and health, environment and natural resources, kids and teens, and much more.
