Legendre wins $10,000 4-H Centennial Raffle Prize
Ben Legendre, head of the Audubon Sugar Institute, is the winner of the $10,000 prize in the 4-H Centennial Raffle. The second prize of $1,000 went to Kristy McKern in Baton Rouge, and the third prize of $500 went to Rosy Bromell in Ruston.
The drawing took place during 4-H Fun Day on October 29, 2008, at the State Fair in Shreveport.
The proceeds will go to the environmental education program at the Grant Walker Education Center and 4-H camp for scholarships for low-income children.
4-H is an educational youth program of the LSU AgCenter. More than 5,000 Louisiana youth participated in 4-H Summer Camp last year.
